Savor the wines produced in “Croatia’s Champagne” region and enjoy the countryside, at the doorsteps of Zagreb. You will be visiting 2 winemakers and tasting app. 12 different wines. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (“Pinot Crni” in Croatian) thrive here; both varieties are used for making sparkling wine and still wine. Other notable wine grapes include Muškat Žuti
(Yellow Muscat), Plavec Žuti, Portugizec (Blauer Portugieser), Rizling (Riesling), Rizvanac (Müller-Thurgau), Sauvignon Blanc, and Syrah.
While Plešivica may seem small in geographical and production size, it is arguably the most exciting and ‘experimental’ wine region in the country. When in Plešivica, you can enjoy wine made in amphora, orange wine made in oxidative style, sparkling wine made in the traditional method and aged for four years on the lees, Pinot Noir redolent of Santa Maria Valley (California) quality, and cool-climate Syrah.
Get to know Samobor, a small artisans’ town famous for its crystal factory. After the visit to the factory, savor some local sweets – splendid vanilla slice cake awaits – “Samoborska kremšnita”. After the cake, it’s time to visit the first vinery.
ITINERARY

- Depart hotel for Samobor (drive 25 Km)
- Visit the tiny crystal factory “Kristal Samobor” (the factory is closed on weekends)
- Savour the famous local cake Samoborska Kremšnita with a cup of coffee
- Continue for a ride through the rolling hills where the vineyards lie, starting from 200 meters in elevation up to over 400 meters
- Visit the first winery and savor the selection of wines (5 wines and 1 champagne) with charcuterie and cheese snacks included
- Visit the second winery and enjoy selection of 6 wines and full 3 course lunch

We will pick you up at your hotel in Zagreb and drop you off at the hotel. The exact timing should be agreed upon and specified at the time of booking.

Visit to the crystal factory is not available during the weekends and after 13:00 hrs. This may alter the duration of the tour.
