If you like to visit nature, enjoy local customs and great food, in a slow-pace leisurely way, this tour is a perfect treat and rightly called “an authentic experience”.

Have your camera ready as you set off to explore the most amazing play of nature – Rastoke Village, nestled in the mountains southwest of the capital Zagreb, one and half hours drive. If you are a foodie and love to explore unique sites, this tour is perfect for you as it is not going to exhaust you, but will rather energize you!  A lot of tourists stop by only to take a snapshot, missing to truly immerse and enjoy exploring what we consider a miniature of the nearby Plitvice Lakes. One should not be rushed but take it as one of the best local experiences.

The land where the lovely settlement of Rastoke was developed was formed by the movement of the two rivers Korana and Slunjčica. Rastoke is well-known for its numerous mills used to process grain from adjacent towns, as well as its lovely traditional-style buildings. Every season recounts a distinct narrative and gives Rastoke a new appearance and its stunning waterfalls will mesmerize you.

On the way to Rastoke, we will stop to visit the Homeland War Museum in Turanj.

Traditional gourmet lunch is also included and is an absolute highlight matching the beauty of the place. We shall also visit a traditional liqueur-tasting distillery, producing gin and Croatian brandies “rakija” (subject to seasonal availability).

This tour is a light tour and doesn’t require a high level of physical ability. This tour is not suitable for people with mobility issues. Please let us know at the time of booking.

ITINERARY

We can customize this tour to fit your preferences:

  • After the hotel pick up (9:00 am), we shall set for the comfortable 1hour 30 minutes and half-hours drive (105 Km)
  • After the comfort stop and a short visit to Turanj, a Homeland War Museum, we will continue gently through the hills of the Lika region.
  • Estimate arrival at the village is at 11.00 am
  • The duration of the visit is approximately 3 hours, including the lunch
  • This tour includes entrance tickets to Rastoke Village and the traditional lunch

We will pick you up at your hotel in Zagreb and drop you off at the hotel. The exact timing should be agreed upon and specified at the time of booking.
